Botox is a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles between the brows. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. What to Expect During Your Botox® Treatment

PREP-FREE AND EASY

Our Botox treatment in Kirkland and Edmonds, WA is convenient, fitting easily within your lunch break or practically anywhere within your schedule. To prepare for your Botox injections, one of our friendly and experienced medical providers will sanitize your skin and may also apply a topical numbing solution or ice pack to the targeted area.

Next, they may ask you to perform certain facial expressions, such as lifting your eyebrows, frowning, or squinting your eyes to examine your facial anatomy and determine the precise location for each injection. Then, they will meticulously administer all of your injections while paying close attention to your facial symmetry.

Treatment typically takes about 15 minutes, and you will be able to return to your day as soon as you leave us. Most Edmonds Botox patients receive regular treatments spaced every three to four months, although the longevity of your results may be slightly longer or shorter.

You can maximize your results by performing specific facial exercises immediately after your treatment. If your Botox treatment is for frown lines, frowning will help direct the solution to the targeted muscles. For the best results, you can perform four sets of ten targeted muscle contractions (by frowning, squinting, lifting your eyebrows, etc.). Doing this can help your results appear faster and last longer. We recommend doing this during your drive, immediately after you leave us.

Your Botox® Recovery

SLOW DOWN WRINKLES WITHOUT SLOWING DOWN

There is very little recovery involved after your treatment. So little, in fact, that our Edmonds and Kirkland Botox patients will be able to return to their routine without missing a beat. You will need to avoid lying down for at least four hours and should wait a minimum of 24 hours before working out. You may notice some temporary redness, tenderness, or other minor side effects around injection sites, though these will subside quickly. You will also want to make sure that you avoid rubbing the treated area to prevent the solution from migrating away from where it’s needed most and to prevent infection.

Discomfort is usually mild and short-lived. Before your injections begin, we will offer to apply a cold pack or numbing cream to make your treatment as quick and painless as possible. Most patients are in and out of the office in just 15-20 minutes with no downtime following BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment. Soon after your treatment, you may notice some minor side effects related to the injection sites. These side effects are usually quite minimal, fast to subside, and may include inflammation, localized pain, tenderness, swelling, redness, or bleeding/bruising.

Within days, you will notice a difference in the moderate-to-severe lines and wrinkles in treated areas. Your skin will appear refreshed, and you will look years younger. Lines continue to improve for up to 30 days, and results can last for up to 4 months. Sometimes, patients notice their results may last longer than four months. In this case, we will space your treatments accordingly to make sure we never over-treat you.
